Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dougie Poynter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dougie Poynter!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poynter scores with a body shot.
Poynter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kong paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Kong counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Poynter's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Poynter's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kong walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
King Kong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Poynter had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kong is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Poynter Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kong's back instead.
Kong tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Kong tries to lock up and control but Poynter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Poynter wants to finish this one by submission but Kong is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Poynter.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kong accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Poynter wants to sweep but no luck.
Kong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
