Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Suan Paredes!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Paredes's half guard.
Paredes is trying to maintain the position but Belson is very close to passing his half guard.

Belson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Paredes is positioning himself well to prevent Belson advancing to mount.
Belson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Belson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Paredes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Belson is taking a breather. Paredes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Paredes is not content to let Belson control the position.
Paredes is looking to control Belson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Paredes avoid being mounted?
Paredes tries to roll over but Belson keeps him under control.
Paredes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Belson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paredes flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Belson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Belson is looking for a kimura but Paredes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Belson to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jarik Belson dominated that round.
That's time! Belson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Belson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Paredes's waist but Paredes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belson off to one side.
Belson scores with a shot to the body.
Paredes displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Belson.
Belson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Paredes can do to turn this around?
Belson cracks Paredes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A left lands for Belson.
Nice defenses there by Paredes.
Paredes misses with a double jab.
Belson connects with a crisp jab.
Belson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paredes tries to avoid it but Belson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paredes to the ground. Paredes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarik Belson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Paredes needs to keep his hands up - Belson had a free shot at his head there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Belson shoots for a takedown but Paredes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Belson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Belson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Paredes is fending him off so far but Belson persists. Nope, Paredes circles away and we're back to standing.
Belson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Paredes throws a right hand that misses
letting Belson counter with a right hand.
Paredes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Belson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


It looks like Jarik Belson has been cut.
Paredes throws a jab when Belson was well out of range.
It looked like Belson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Paredes.
Paredes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Belson misses with a right hand
and Paredes counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Belson scores with a sloppy right hand. Paredes should have avoided that one.

Paredes cracks Belson with an uppercut from hell and Belson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Paredes's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Belson is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Paredes lands a couple of digs.
Oh Belson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Paredes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Paredes loads up on a big left hand. Belson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Paredes looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Belson can't hide his disappointment, as Paredes celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Suan Paredes!
