Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danok Linus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danok Linus!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jacobs looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jacobs avoids the head kick by Linus.
As Linus backs away, Jacobs returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Jacobs wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Linus shoots and misses
and Jacobs counters with a nice uppercut.

Jacobs moves into the clinch.
Linus is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jacobs to keep the fight standing.

Jacobs gets control of Linus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jacobs will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jacobs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jacobs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Linus looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We've been informed that Linus has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Jacobs wants to clinch up but Linus keeps it at a distance.
Linus tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Linus has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jacobs uses from the top position.
Jacobs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Linus is proving hard to escape from.

Jacobs gets tackled into the cage by Linus. Linus maintains the clinch.
Linus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

and Linus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jacobs's guard.
Linus is standing up over Jacobs. Jacobs looks to escape but Linus dives into side control.

Linus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Linus scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jacobs to see if he's OK.
Jacobs is not content to let Linus control the position.
Linus remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Jacobs explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Jacobs throws a series of punches but Linus moves out of range.

Linus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Linus ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Linus no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Linus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jacobs's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Danok Linus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Jacobs takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jacobs moves into the clinch.
Linus jumps guard but Jacobs stands there with Linus around his waist. Linus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Linus gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Jacobs throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Linus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Linus is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Linus cracks Jacobs with a solid left hand.
Linus pushes down on Jacobs's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Linus is keen to just control but Jacobs is a slippery customer.

Linus is looking for a kimura but Jacobs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Linus to get the leverage.

Jacobs manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jacobs stuffs the takedown.
Jacobs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jacobs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Linus swats him away and circles back towards the center.

A big left from Linus misses.

Jacobs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Paul Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danok Linus.
Linus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jacobs swivels and escapes.

Linus is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Jacobs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Linus is proving hard to escape from.

Danok Linus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Danok Linus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Linus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
