The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fairweather sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rivera somewhat.

Fairweather is looking to stand up but Rivera isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rivera gets a takedown into half guard.
Fairweather is trying to escape back to his feet but Rivera uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Rivera lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Rivera cracks Fairweather with a big elbow.

Rivera has hold of Fairweather's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fairweather tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rivera cranks the arm and Fairweather screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fairweather, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
