The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ragnarson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McClain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McClain went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
McClain throws a right hand that Ragnarson ducks under and follows up with a left that Ragnarson also avoids with ease.
McClain works over Ragnarson's head and body with a nice combination.
Ragnarson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ragnarson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

and Ragnarson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bragi Ragnarson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McClain doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown attempt by McClain or perhaps it was just good defense by Ragnarson, which made it look bad.

McClain looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ragnarson throws a nice looking combination but McClain bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

McClain blocks a low kick nicely.

McClain has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ragnarson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McClain is breathing heavily.
Ragnarson is pushing McClain up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

McClain changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ragnarson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ragnarson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on McClain's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ragnarson dives in looking to finish as McClain flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ragnarson's strikes! Ragnarson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! McClain's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but McClain was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
