The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruttenum takes a jab right on the kisser.

It looks like Conor Ruttenum has been cut.
We've been told by Brown's head coaches at Apex that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ruttenum ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Brown is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

We've been informed that Ruttenum has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Brown is trying to push Ruttenum away but Ruttenum has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jamaal Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor Ruttenum .
Ruttenum is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brown is defending well.
Ruttenum jumps guard but Brown stands there with Ruttenum around his waist. Ruttenum gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Brown counters with a right hand to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Brown throws a pinpoint strike between Ruttenum 's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Ruttenum crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Brown scores a great knockout victory!
