Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Bozzy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elwood Black had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elwood Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Bozzy!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ron Honeybunn and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bozzy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Black tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Black is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bozzy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bozzy's back!
You can see the frustration on Bozzy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Bozzy feints and as Black raises his hands in defense, Bozzy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bozzy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Black's guard.

Bozzy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Black manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bozzy manages to get himself to full guard.
