Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mitchell Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zed Ace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell Miller has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mitchell Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zed Ace!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller shoots in and bounces Ace off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Miller won't allow Ace to sweep him here.
Miller showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Miller throws a big elbow that misses.
Ace has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Las Vegas. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Miller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Miller trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miller is one step ahead there.

Ace wants to stand but Miller is controlling the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Miller is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ace lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miller circles away quickly and effectively.

Miller looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Ace manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ace misses with a body kick.
Ace stuffs the takedown attempt from Miller. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Ace. No joy for Miller on that attempt.

Ace will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Miller is looking for a counter combo.

Ace fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Miller, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miller jumps guard but Ace stands there with Miller around his waist. Miller gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitchell Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ace lands a hook to the side of the head.
Miller tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ace smiles and moves away.
Miller could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ace looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Miller!
Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ace stands up.
Ace stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ace wants it to stay on the feet.
Miller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ace is fending him off so far but Miller persists. Nope, Ace circles away and we're back to standing.

Ace drives through and clinches with Miller against the cage.
Miller has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ace avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ace gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Ace looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ace looks winded!
Miller striking off his back but it's not causing Ace any problems.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Miller is looking to sweep but instead, Ace has passed into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller trying to hold on to Ace's head to control him but Ace postures up.
Ace wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.
Ace wants to free his trapped foot but Miller is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zed Ace dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ace stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ace lands a body shot.
Ace tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zed Ace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Miller checks a leg kick nicely.
Ace tries to bum rush Miller with a series of wild strikes but Miller uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fighters circling - Miller throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nice sprawl there from Ace as Miller shoots in.
Ace closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Mitchell Miller has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ace moves into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Ace fails to land.

Ace turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ace manages to end up in side control.

Miller throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Ace is breathing heavily.

Ace scores with a three punch combo!

Ace closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ace tries a body shot but Miller blocks it.

Ace ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ace no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Miller is looking to work some ground and pound but Ace has wrist control.
Miller controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ace has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Miller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Miller controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ace has his foot on Miller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miller works his way back into a safe position though.

Ace is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Zed Ace seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Miller tries to clinch but Ace moves out of range.
Ace throws a counter combo.
Miller has a takedown stuffed.
Ace tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ace swinging wildly here.
As Ace looks to move away, Miller throws a big counter combo but Ace just gets out of the way.

Miller gets the takedown into side control.

Miller decides to stand back up. Miller steps back and let's Ace get back to his feet.
Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ace swivels and escapes.

Ace wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.

Miller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Miller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ace tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miller throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ace tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Miller is in Ace's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zed Ace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Mitchell Miller's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Miller bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ace sneaks out the side door and pushes Miller away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Miller's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Miller stands up and waves to Ace to follow him.
Zed Ace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ace clinches up with Miller and pushes him back against the cage.

Ace lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Ace takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Miller jumps guard but Ace stands there with Miller around his waist. Miller gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ace pulls Miller into guard.
Miller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ace keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.

Ace tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Miller sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Miller shoots in and gets a takedown into Ace's guard.
Ace being controlled here, momentarily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Miller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ace lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Miller wants to sweep but no luck.
Ace would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Miller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ace wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ace is looking to work some ground and pound but Miller has wrist control.
Miller is striking off his back. Ace thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Miller gets full guard.
Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mitchell Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Miller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miller wants to hit a switch here but Ace passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Miller there!

Zed Ace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ace winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
