Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams throws a series of punches but Cox avoids them all with ease.
Cox drops down looking for a counter takedown but Adams sprawls and moves away.

Adams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Adams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cox slips a jab and a cross from Adams.

Adams forces Cox back against the cage and clinches.
Cox changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Adams fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Adams moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Cox holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Adams jumps into guard, dragging Cox to the mat.
Cox tries to free his leg and advance position but Adams is retaining full guard.
Cox forces his way into half guard.
Cox is thwarting Adams's attempts to control the position.
Well, if Cox is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cox tries to pass the half guard into mount. Adams knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Cox is trying to work for a kimura but Adams is defending well.
Cox is pressing down on Adams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Adams is holding on for now.

Adams pushes Cox off looking to stand but Cox dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cox is trying to work for a kimura but Adams is defending well.
Adams tries to get to full guard but Cox has control of the leg.

Cox is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cox looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Cox wants to take a breather but Adams is having none of it.

Adams won't allow Cox to pass to mount.

Adams is defending against the submission attempts here by Cox.
Cox wants to control but Adams is keeping him busy.
Cox frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Adams is squirming around, avoiding Cox's attempts to control the action.

Cox tries to get the hooks in deep but Adams pushed the leg off.

Cox is cranking Adams's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Adams! He's tightened the choke and Adams is tapping out!
