PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar Randolph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Young!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randolph gets tackled into the cage by Young. Young maintains the clinch.

Randolph's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Young drives through with a takedown into Randolph's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Randolph pushes Young off and scrambles back to his feet.

Young closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Randolph manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Young is taking a breather. Randolph says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Young looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Randolph with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Young is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
It looks like Young might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
