Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Guadalupe Winters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Somboon Metharom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Somboon Metharom was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metharom tries to clinch but Winters moves out of range.
Metharom tries to clinch up but Winters circles away and keeps his distance.
A counter left hand to the body from Winters misses its target.

Metharom instigates a clinch.
Metharom pushes off an throws an elbow but Winters leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Metharom manages to break the clinch.
Metharom chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Metharom is looking to clinch.
Metharom darts in trying to clinch
and Winters counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Metharom dodges the punch combination from Winters.
Metharom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Winters swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Winters changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Winters will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Metharom throws a right and a left that Winters avoids nicely.
Winters seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Winters counters with a two punch combo.
Metharom tries to clinch up.
Metharom lands a body shot.
Winters avoids the head kick by Metharom.
A little feinted left hand from Winters on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Winters keeps the fight on the outside.

and Winters counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Metharom wants to get back to his feet but Winters is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winters drops back looking for a leg! Metharom is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Metharom manages to kick Winters off! Winters jumps back into Metharom's guard.
Winters prevents Metharom from getting back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Winters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Metharom is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Winters is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Winters is looking to work some ground and pound but Metharom has wrist control.
Winters postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Winters postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Metharom is looking to stand up but Winters isn't so interested in that idea.
Winters is stalling in the full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Winters is looking to work some ground and pound but Metharom has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Winters tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Metharom pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Metharom doesn't manage to clinch there - Winters circles away.
Metharom lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Metharom pushes Winters up against the cage in a clinch.
Winters tries for a takedown but Metharom manages to get underhooks.
Winters has Metharom pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Metharom manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Guadalupe Winters. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Metharom breaks the clinch.
Metharom scores with a head kick. Winters tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Winters is rocked!
Metharom lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Winters falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
