The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castillejo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Castillejo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Johnson to stand up.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Castillejo as he avoids it easily.

Johnson is trying to improve his position.
Castillejo is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Castillejo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Castillejo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johnson to his feet.
Castillejo tries to score with a low kick but Johnson moves his leg out of the way.
Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Castillejo defends it nicely.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Castillejo tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Castillejo back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Castillejo slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Castillejo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson dives in and grabs Castillejo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castillejo pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.

Castillejo darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Castillejo into the cage.
Castillejo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
Johnson dives in and grabs Castillejo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Castillejo pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Castillejo circles away quickly and effectively.
Castillejo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Castillejo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Castillejo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johnson quickly recovers to half guard.

Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Castillejo is working away from the top position though.

Johnson tries to kick Castillejo off but Castillejo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Castillejo seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.
Castillejo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Javi Castillejo will probably get the nod.
