Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason DeBruyn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Biff Rain!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeBruyn fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rain, pushing him back against the cage.
DeBruyn struggles to land a body shot inside as Rain controls his hands.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
DeBruyn breaks from the clinch.
Rain tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. DeBruyn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
DeBruyn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rain counters by clinching up.
Rain tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and DeBruyn avoids it.
Rain looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rain leaning his opponent against the cage.
DeBruyn is pushing Rain up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
DeBruyn turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round.
DeBruyn postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
DeBruyn has hold of Rain's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rain seems comfortable defending it but DeBruyn has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rain is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rain is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but DeBruyn couldn't care less - he's delighted!
