Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ode Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Teitsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matti Teitsi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 3, fighting out of London, Ode Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Teitsi!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Jokinen.
Teitsi has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Jokinen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Teitsi tries for a takedown but Jokinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jokinen is looking to counter punch.
Teitsi throws a leg kick
and Jokinen counters with a stiff right hand.
We've been hearing reports that Jokinen has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jokinen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Teitsi counters with a nice uppercut.
Teitsi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jokinen pinned against the cage. Jokinen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Teitsi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jokinen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Jokinen swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Jokinen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Teitsi clinches.

Jokinen lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jokinen misses with a body punch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Teitsi.
Jokinen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Teitsi backwards.
Jokinen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Jokinen is trying to maintain a safe position but Teitsi gets an underhook and turns Jokinen into the cage.
Jokinen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Teitsi prevents it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Teitsi lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jokinen or not.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jokinen.

Teitsi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Jokinen controls Teitsi momentarily but Teitsi frees himself.

Jokinen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Teitsi uses it to pass to side control.

Jokinen is looking to regain half guard here but Teitsi keeps moving and retains side control.
Jokinen can't do much from the bottom here.

Jokinen tries to improve position but can't.
Jokinen is trying to control Teitsi's posture but Teitsi avoids it.

Teitsi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jokinen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Teitsi connects with a decent elbow.

Jokinen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Teitsi off and has taken his back!
Jokinen has the hooks in. Teitsi is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Jokinen is fighting to break Teitsi's control of his arms but Teitsi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jokinen throws an elbow that misses. Teitsi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jokinen's guard. Nice move by Teitsi!

Jokinen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Teitsi manages to get himself to full guard.

Jokinen wants to control from the top but Teitsi keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jokinen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jokinen throws a strike but Teitsi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jokinen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jokinen is trying to control the position but Teitsi postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jokinen has his foot on Teitsi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Teitsi works his way back into a safe position though.

Jokinen throws a leg kick but Teitsi sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jokinen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jokinen throws a jab when Teitsi was well out of range.
Teitsi digs a good body shot into Jokinen's ribs.

Teitsi misses with a lunging right hand
and Jokinen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Teitsi throws out a counter right but Jokinen avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ode Jokinen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teitsi throws a sloppy head kick and Jokinen moves out of range easily.
Jokinen digs a good hook to Teitsi's body.
Teitsi throws out a loose jab but Jokinen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Teitsi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jokinen was well out of range. Poor timing from Teitsi.

Jokinen missing with a left hand there. Teitsi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jokinen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jokinen there as he acknowledges the shot.

Teitsi wants to clinch but Jokinen slips to the side
and Jokinen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jokinen throws a jab but it's blocked by Teitsi.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ode Jokinen.
I think Jokinen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
