Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Billy Macdonah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robo Ishihara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Macdonah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robo Ishihara!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonah fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ishihara closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Macdonah tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ishihara wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ishihara stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Macdonah lands a nice shot that snaps Ishihara's head back.
Macdonah connects with a looping right hand.
Macdonah jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ishihara fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Macdonah to the ground. Ishihara is now in Macdonah's guard.

Ishihara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ishihara is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

and Macdonah connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ishihara shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Macdonah tries to get to full guard but Ishihara has control of the leg.
Ishihara slips a nice elbow through Macdonah's hands, connecting with Macdonah's forehead.

Ishihara is taking a breather. Macdonah says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Macdonah is looking for a sweep. Ishihara is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Macdonah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ishihara is working away from the top position though.

It looks like Ishihara might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

A close round but Robo Ishihara will probably get the nod.
That's time! Macdonah's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A left lands for Macdonah.
Macdonah swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Macdonah tries to close the distance and clinch but Ishihara swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ishihara moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ishihara shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Macdonah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ishihara circles away quickly and effectively.

Ishihara throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Macdonah's waist but Macdonah gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ishihara off to one side.
Ishihara walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Macdonah dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Ishihara misses with a two punch combination.
Macdonah's corner calls for a 1-2. Macdonah obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ishihara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Robo Ishihara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ishihara has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
