Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ikuhisa Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Yauch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yauch comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fight For Your Right To Party kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikuhisa Matsumoto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Yauch!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yauch thuds a left hand into Matsumoto's body.
Matsumoto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Yauch is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Matsumoto with a body shot.
Matsumoto on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Matsumoto digs a good hook to Yauch's body.
Matsumoto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Matsumoto throws a series of punches but Yauch avoids them all with ease.
Matsumoto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Yauch throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yauch lands with a thumping leg kick.
Yauch lands with a hook. Matsumoto tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Yauch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Yauch misses with a hook. Matsumoto ducked under it nicely.
It looked like Matsumoto wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Matsumoto counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Matsumoto's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yauch connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Matsumoto scrambles back to his feet.
Adam Yauch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yauch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Matsumoto manages to avoid it.
Matsumoto keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Yauch throws a hook but Matsumoto avoids it easily.
Yauch lands a nice leg kick that just misses Matsumoto's sensitive parts.

Yauch with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matsumoto to score with a decent uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Matsumoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yauch moves away.
A head kick from Yauch lands but Matsumoto takes it in his stride.

Matsumoto is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Matsumoto steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yauch.
Yauch connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Matsumoto uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yauch.

Yauch lands a big head kick that sends Matsumoto tumbling to the mat! Yauch takes a step backwards and waves Matsumoto back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Ikuhisa Matsumoto has been cut.
Yauch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Matsumoto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Yauch just misses with a punch to the body.
Matsumoto seems to have got his legs back now.
Yauch misses with a body punch
and Matsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yauch swings for the body but Matsumoto moves out of range.
Yauch takes a swing at Matsumoto's ribcage but misses.
Matsumoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Yauch misses with a double jab.
An attempted straight right counter from Matsumoto misses the target.
Yauch connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Yauch connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Matsumoto! He's out on his feet! Yauch rushes in and drops Matsumoto with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Adam Yauch!

An out of breath Adam Yauch thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
