The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonah swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Velasqes counters with a shoot takedown. Macdonah fights it but they end up in guard.
Velasqes drops back looking for a leg! Macdonah is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Macdonah manages to kick Velasqes off! Velasqes jumps back into Macdonah's guard.
Velasqes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Macdonah creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Velasqes with a big uppercut! Velasqes tries to clinch up but Macdonah pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Velasqes to the mat! Velasqes covers up and Macdonah unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
