The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swallow shoots for a double leg takedown but Rogan sprawls well. He's pushed Swallow's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rogan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Swallow is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rogan.

Swallow bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Swallow defends it easily.

Swallow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Swallow has managed to get both his arms back between Rogan's legs - danger averted.
Swallow must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Swallow content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Rogan has locked up a guillotine! Rogan's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Swallow is holding on here and Rogan must be using up a lot of energy. Swallow has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Rogan gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
