Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maria Haney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maria Haney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Allen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Allen drives through with a takedown into Haney's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Haney desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Haney has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Allen is working away from the top position though.

Haney is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Allen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Haney is just riding it out for now. Allen eventually gives up the hold.
Allen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Haney's head.
Allen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Haney is defending against the submission attempts here by Allen.

Allen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Haney has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Haney wants to control but Allen is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Allen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Haney shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Allen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Allen has his feet on Haney's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Haney is pulling down on Allen's head. It's preventing any offense from Allen, at least for the moment.

Haney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Allen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Haney seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Allen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Allen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Allen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Haney is keeping the position for now.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Allen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Haney!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen is looking to take a break and control but Haney is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Even with his hooks in, Haney manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Can Allen hold on?! Haney is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Allen can't escape the position.

Allen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Haney's guard. Nice work there by Allen.
Allen is breathing heavily.
Allen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Haney is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allen tries to stand but Haney is controlling from the bottom.

Allen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Allen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Haney is controlling Allen's posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Allen feints and as Haney raises his hands in defense, Allen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Allen wants to control from the top but Haney keeps moving.

Haney is trying to keep Allen in close.

Allen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

John Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Allen has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Haney should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Allen has tightened it up now! Haney should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
