Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brett Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Angel!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester shoots in but Angel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lester shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angel as he jumps to the side.

Lester gets tackled into the cage by Angel. Angel maintains the clinch.
Lester really is a fat lump.

Angel drags the fight down to the ground.
Angel striking off his back but it's not causing Lester any problems.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lester stops Angel from standing up.
Lester preventing the sweep.
Lester would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lester content to stall in guard here.

Lester stops Angel from standing up.
Angel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lester's guard.

Lester is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lester throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Lester slows the pace down in half guard.
Lester looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Angel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Angel trying to hold on to Lester's head to control him but Lester postures up.

Lester is working for a kimura but Angel is defending it quite comfortably.

Angel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lester pulls his head out easily.

Lester content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angel is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lester scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lester thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lester takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Angel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lester swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Angel looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Angel looks to clinch

and Lester counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lester.

Lester is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Angel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Angel has escaped and now he's on top!

Angel wants to control from the top but Lester keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adam Angel will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Angel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lester manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Lester seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Angel throws a sloppy head kick and Lester moves out of range easily.

Angel is wriggling around but Lester manages to pass to half guard.

Angel scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Lester manages to mount him!

Lester is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Angel can do to turn this around?

Angel tries to hold on but Lester postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lester content just to control the position here.
Angel is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lester goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Angel is on top in guard.

Angel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lester dives on top into guard.

Angel controls Lester momentarily but Lester frees himself.

Angel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lester is controlling him.
Lester postures up and lands a big shot to Angel's brow.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lester is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Angel has momentary wrist control but Lester slips an elbow through the middle.
Lester lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Lester content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lester throwing strikes from guard but Angel blocks nicely.
Lester lands a couple of elbows.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Brett Lester dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Angel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lester gets back to full guard.
Angel wants to control from the top but Lester keeps moving.
Angel controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Lester has an active guard here but Angel has managed to pass into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lester does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are battling for position here. Lester manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Angel wants to get up but he can't break Lester's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Angel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lester on his heels. He'll look to pass Lester's guard now, I'm sure.

Angel stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lester shoots in looking for a takedown. Angel tries to sprawl out of it but Lester keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Angel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Angel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brett Lester is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Angel tries to keep at a distance but Lester has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lester is fighting off a takedown attempt but Angel is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lester to the mat. Lester regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lester manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Angel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Angel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Angel is looking to take a break and control but Lester is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Angel goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lester has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Angel but great work by Lester.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lester cracks Angel with a big elbow.
Angel gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Lester stalling.
Angel is looking to control Lester's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Angel avoid being mounted?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brett Lester.
I think Lester has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
