Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hoyt Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allen has chosen Can't be Touched as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hoyt Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Allen!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen fails to land the takedown.

Clay gets tackled into the cage by Allen. Allen maintains the clinch.

Clay breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Allen darts in looking for a takedown but Clay gets double underhooks and turns Allen into the cage.

Allen clinches up against the cage.
Allen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clay walks away with a smile on his face. Allen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hoyt Clay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Allen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Clay counters by moving into the clinch.
Clay tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Allen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clay sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allen somewhat.

Allen has managed to clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Clay closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Allen quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clay's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Clay could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clay's waist but Clay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.

Allen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clay swivels and escapes.

Allen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allen has managed to get both his arms back between Clay's legs - danger averted.

Allen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Clay haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Clay went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

As Allen looks to move away, Clay throws a big counter combo but Allen just gets out of the way.
