Emerson comes to the cage accompanied by Laurent Wolf - No Stress. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Emerson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mena is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Emerson.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mena has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mena gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Emerson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Emerson seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Mena is holding on tight.

Emerson goes for an armbar but Mena turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mena.

Emerson has his foot on Mena's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mena works his way back into a safe position though.
Mena won't allow Emerson to sweep him here.

Mena content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Emerson has locked up a guillotine! Emerson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mena is holding on here and Emerson must be using up a lot of energy. Mena has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Emerson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
