Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maynard Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kichal Mita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper tries to close the distance and clinch but Mita swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hooper sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hooper tries to clinch up but Mita circles away and keeps his distance.
Hooper has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mita.
Mita misses with the body kick

and Hooper counters with a shoot takedown. Mita fights it but they end up in guard.
Hooper lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mita throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mita working a defensive guard but Hooper passes into half guard.
Hooper is thwarting Mita's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mita tries to get to full guard but Hooper has control of the leg.
Mita is trying to control but Hooper manages to pass to mount!

Hooper jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mita manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hooper has hold of Mita's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Mita tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hooper cranks the arm and Mita screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Mita, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
