Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Randall Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Iordanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer misses with a low kick as Iordanov jumps back.

Iordanov moves into range and clinches up with Mercer.
Iordanov scores a nice knee to the body.

Iordanov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Iordanov throws a head kick that misses.
Iordanov buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Iordanov rushes Mercer and presses him up against the cage.

Iordanov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Mercer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Iordanov has him pressed against the cage.

Iordanov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mercer.
Mercer takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Randall Mercer has been cut.

Iordanov unleashes a big counter combination but Mercer bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Iordanov pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Iordanov pushes Mercer up against the cage in a clinch.
Iordanov using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mercer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Iordanov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mercer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Iordanov goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Mercer is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Iordanov cracks Mercer's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Mercer slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Iordanov can do further damage! This one is done, son!
