Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Laraque!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Fare!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Laraque lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fare doesn't seem phased though.
A swing and a miss from Fare.
Fare misses with a hook
and Laraque counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Laraque misses with a double jab

and Fare counters with a shoot takedown. Laraque fights it but they end up in guard.
Fare is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Fare trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fare passes Laraque's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Laraque wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fare is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Fare is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Laraque can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fare lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Fare content just to control the position here.
Fare lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Laraque hang on?
Fare looking to control and managing it successfully.
Laraque knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fare on the ground.
Laraque squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Fare wants to take his opponent's back but Laraque doesn't allow it.
Laraque wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fare unloads with some shots from mount but Laraque bucks and avoids them well.
Fare takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laraque really wants to buck Fare off and get back to his feet.

Fare swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Laraque is now in Fare's guard. A big mistake from Fare there, giving up the dominant position!
Fare pulls Laraque in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laraque working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Laraque stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Fare throws up his legs and catches Laraque in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Laraque tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Fare! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Tom Fare!
