PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lee Pang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Kronin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kronin has chosen Rocking from Riga as his entrance music. The key to victory for Lee Pang has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Pang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Kronin!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Kronin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pang tries a head kick but it misses.
Pang throws the kick towards the body but Kronin avoids it.
Kronin throws a shot from downtown. Pang moves away and avoids it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kronin takes a knee right on the jaw!
A shot in the inside from Kronin.
Pang misses with some punches.
Pang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kronin has him pressed against the cage.

Kronin gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kronin is nestled in close to Pang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kronin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kronin slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kronin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Kronin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kronin throwing shots but Pang is blocking nicely.
Kronin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pang's head.
Kronin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kronin works his foot free and advances to mount.

Kronin lands a nice shot to the head.

Kronin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pang to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pang shrugs it off.
Pang takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kronin tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kronin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Kronin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pang hang on?
Kronin postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Pang bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Kronin and the fight is over!
