Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jules Hull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Scott!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott clinches with his opponent.
Hull fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Scott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hull taking a breather.
Scott tries for a takedown. No joy.
Still in the clinch, Scott scores with a nice short uppercut.


It looks like Jules Hull has been cut.

Scott pulls Hull into guard.
Hull throws a big elbow that misses.
Hull postures up in Scott's guard and throws a big left but Scott blocks it.

Hull stands up and waves to Scott to follow him.
Scott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hull seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jules Hull has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Scott.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hull tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Scott avoids it.

Scott manages to pull guard.
Hull has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hull wanted to stand there but Scott had control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scott utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hull counters with a series of strikes. Scott will be more careful next time no doubt.

Scott has managed to clinch.
Hull misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Scott.

and Scott takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Hull clinches up with Scott and pushes him back against the cage.
Hull trying to control the position but instead, Scott has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hull into the cage.

Hull breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Scott closes the distance and clinches.
Hull lands a right hand that snaps the head of Scott backwards.

Scott successfully pulls guard.
Hull throws a strike but Scott rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Scott not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Scott wants to control from the top but Hull keeps moving.
Scott is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Scott would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Scott has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hull is proving hard to escape from.
Hull wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.

Hull tries to keep at a distance but Scott has taken the fight into the clinch.

Scott is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hull has managed to free his arm - good work.

Scott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Scott is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hull is just riding it out for now. Scott eventually gives up the hold.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Scott connects with a nice short shot to Hull's temple.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hull manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hull trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
Hull tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Scott is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Scott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Scott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Scott lands in his opponent's guard.
Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Hull is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hull can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scott controls the pace.

Hull has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Scott is working away from the top position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Scott lands with a punch from half guard.
Scott is controlling the pace.

Scott uses his free foot to push down on Hull's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hull.
Scott wants to take Hull's back but he can't do it this time.
Scott landing punches.
Scott controlling the position easily from mount.

Scott lands a big elbow.
Scott controlling the pace for now.
Hull is trying to escape the mount.
Scott takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jules Hull has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chris Scott is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I've got Scott winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
