With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Kilpatrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Roussow!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roussow moves into range and clinches up with Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick looking for a takedown.
Roussow doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Roussow misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kilpatrick blocks a body shot from Roussow.
A short right from Roussow on the inside.
Roussow lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kilpatrick backwards.
Roussow has a couple of punches blocked by Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick tries to throw a body punch but Roussow avoids it by throwing Kilpatrick back against the cage.
Kilpatrick tries a knee to the head but Roussow blocks it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick trying to control the position but instead, Roussow has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kilpatrick into the cage.
Roussow tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kilpatrick wants to get back to striking at distance but Roussow won't allow it.
Roussow blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kilpatrick trying to control the position but instead, Roussow has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kilpatrick into the cage.

Roussow scores with a shoulder strike.

Kilpatrick trying to stall but Roussow improves his position.
Kilpatrick tries to land knees in the clinch but Roussow avoids the damage to the body.
Kilpatrick stops a takedown attempt from Roussow.

Kilpatrick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kilpatrick blocks a jab.
Roussow ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kilpatrick looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kilpatrick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Roussow as he avoids it easily.
Kilpatrick tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Roussow wants to counter the offense by Kilpatrick and move into the clinch position.
Kilpatrick fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Kilpatrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Roussow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Roussow swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Roussow lands a hook that snaps the head of Kilpatrick backwards.
Kilpatrick tries to break free but Roussow pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roussow lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Roussow effectively controlling the action here.
Kilpatrick throws a knee to the head but misses.

Roussow gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Roussow lands a nice short elbow.
Roussow tries to pass to full mount but Kilpatrick defends it.
Roussow slips a nice elbow through Kilpatrick's hands, connecting with Kilpatrick's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roussow landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Roussow moves into full mount! Kilpatrick won't be happy about that!
Roussow lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kilpatrick holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Roussow tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Roussow throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Kilpatrick is rocked!
BOOM! Roussow connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Oh Kilpatrick is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roussow tries to control but Kilpatrick wriggling away.
Kilpatrick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roussow on the ground.
Roussow is landing with some decent strikes but Kilpatrick is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Roussow lands a big elbow - Kilpatrick is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Kilpatrick is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Ken Roussow!
