Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Liam Kelley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Paddon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paddon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kelley.
Paddon looks for a takedown but Kelley sprawls well.
Paddon takes one on the button.
Kelley connects with a leg kick. Paddon looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Kelley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paddon.
Kelley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Paddon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd cheers as Kelley lands an impressive looking overhand right. Paddon doesn't seem phased though.
Kelley scores with a hook to the body. Paddon takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Paddon looks winded!
Paddon throws a sloppy head kick and Kelley moves out of range easily.
A low kick from Paddon misses
and Kelley counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've been told by Kelley's head coaches at The Iron Palace that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kelley thumps Paddon with a low kick.
Kelley scores with a spinning back kick!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kelley clinches with his opponent.
Kelley lands with a light punch inside.
A nice left hand lands by Kelley.
A short uppercut from Kelley.
Paddon is rocked!
Kelley lands a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kelley tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Paddon's elbow.
Kelley lands a nice uppercut.
Paddon is still on wobbly legs! Can Kelley finish him?
Kelley lands a hook to the side of the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Kelley.
Kelley scores with a hook to the body.
Kelley lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Paddon.
Kelley breaks from the clinch.
Paddon drops his hands momentarily. Kelley doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Paddon staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Paddon doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Liam Kelley!
Liam Kelley decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
