And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Speer!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Ortiz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Speer, pushing him back against the cage.
Ortiz misses with a hook to the ribs.
Ortiz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Speer's efforts to push away.
Ortiz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Speer is defending well for now.
Ortiz misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Speer has had enough of the clinch but Ortiz keeps him there for the moment.

Ortiz keeps control of Speer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Speer can't break the clinch.

Speer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Speer has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ortiz after a bit of a struggle.

Speer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

I would just about give that final round to Steve Speer.
I think Ortiz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
