Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Kapoolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Cantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryan Kapoolo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jerry Cantrell!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cantrell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kapoolo has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kapoolo pulls Cantrell into guard.

Cantrell stands and steps away. Kapoolo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Cantrell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kapoolo closes the distance and clinches up with Cantrell, looking for a takedown. Kapoolo pushes Cantrell against the cage but Cantrell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cantrell tries for a takedown but Kapoolo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Kapoolo breaks the clinch.
Kapoolo swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Cantrell closes the distance and clinches.
Kapoolo looking for a takedown.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Kapoolo fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kapoolo breaks the clinch.
Cantrell blocks a jab.
Cantrell throws a counter combo.
Kapoolo shoots in for a takedown but Cantrell shows good takedown defense.
Cantrell lands the left hand.
Kapoolo is breathing heavily.
Kapoolo wants to clinch.
Cantrell throws a series of punches but Kapoolo moves out of range.

and Kapoolo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cantrell's guard.

Cantrell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Kapoolo manages to break the clinch.
Cantrell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Cantrell scores with a hook.
Cantrell digs a good hook to Kapoolo's body.
Cantrell swinging wildly here.
Kapoolo dodges the punch combination from Cantrell.
Cantrell connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Cantrell wants to clinch.

Kapoolo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cantrell works over Kapoolo's head and body with a nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kapoolo swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cantrell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cantrell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kapoolo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It looked like Kapoolo was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cantrell.
Cantrell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cantrell displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kapoolo throws out the jab.
Kapoolo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Cantrell throws a head kick but Kapoolo moves out of range.
Kapoolo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerry Cantrell dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Kapoolo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cantrell!
Cantrell is trying to improve his position.
Cantrell taking a bit of punishment here - Kapoolo scoring with strikes.
Cantrell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kapoolo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kapoolo working the body and head with strikes.
Kapoolo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Cantrell is looking for a sweep.
Cantrell is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Kapoolo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cantrell!

Kapoolo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kapoolo working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Cantrell turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kapoolo off and cradles Cantrell's limp body as Kapoolo celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ryan Kapoolo!
