Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lavern Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tre Rampage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rampage comes into a darkened arena with his song building. See Nann Nigga kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lavern Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tre Rampage!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage pivots, looking for a leg kick but Meyers is out of range and Rampage settles back down.

Rampage pushes Meyers up against the cage in a clinch.
Meyers tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rampage's elbow.

Meyers pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rampage drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Meyers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rampage has Meyers in his guard.

Meyers wants to control from the top but Rampage keeps moving.

Rampage is working an open guard so Meyers takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rampage gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Meyers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rampage shoots in and gets a takedown into Meyers's guard.

Meyers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rampage is controlling him.
Rampage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Meyers pulls Rampage in to control the position.

Meyers has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rampage is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Meyers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rampage closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Meyers quickly recovers to half guard.
Rampage looks winded!
Rampage wants to free his trapped foot but Meyers is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Rampage is thwarting Meyers's attempts to control the position.
Meyers is pressing down on Rampage's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Meyers lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Meyers not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rampage looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Meyers passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Meyers scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rampage to see if he's OK.
Meyers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rampage keeps working.

Meyers decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Rampage throws a leg kick that is checked

and Meyers counters by moving into the clinch.
Rampage gets underhooks to prevent Meyers's takedown attempt.

Rampage is fighting off a takedown attempt but Meyers is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rampage to the mat. Rampage regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Rampage is wriggling around but Meyers manages to pass to half guard.


Meyers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rampage sees it coming and defends easily.

Meyers is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Meyers content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Meyers decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Meyers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rampage's half guard.
Rampage is looking to get back to is feet but Meyers passes into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Meyers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meyers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Meyers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rampage has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rampage looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Meyers is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rampage.

Rampage gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Meyers to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Meyers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Meyers controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Rampage is breathing heavily.

Meyers gets to his feet - Rampage follows without any prompting.

Rampage shoots in and bounces Meyers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Meyers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rampage manages to get himself to full guard.


Meyers stands up and waves to Rampage to follow him.

Rampage moves into the clinch.

Meyers stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Meyers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Meyers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rampage, up you get!
Meyers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rampage can do to turn this around?

Meyers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rampage napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Meyers goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rampage has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Meyers but great work by Rampage.

Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Rampage drags him back down.
Meyers manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Meyers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Meyers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rampage is just riding it out for now. Meyers eventually gives up the hold.

Meyers is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Meyers is looking for a triangle but Rampage pushes his legs off easily.
Meyers pulls Rampage in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lavern Meyers dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Meyers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Meyers moves into the clinch.
Meyers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rampage gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Meyers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers has Rampage pressed against the cage.
Meyers wants to break free but Rampage has control.
Meyers is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lavern Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Meyers gets control of Rampage's arms and successfully pulls guard. Meyers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Meyers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Meyers stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Rampage shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Meyers's guard.

Meyers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rampage lands a couple of digs.

Meyers pulls Rampage in close to his closed guard and prevents Rampage from doing any damage or advancing position.

Meyers has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rampage has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Meyers decides to pull guard.
Meyers wants to stand but Rampage is controlling the position.
Rampage wants to control from the top but Meyers keeps moving.
Meyers wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rampage pushing down on Meyers's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rampage is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Lavern Meyers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Meyers pushes Rampage off and gets back to his feet.

Meyers moves into the clinch successfully.

Meyers manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Meyers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rampage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rampage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rampage tries to free his leg and advance position but Meyers is retaining full guard.
Meyers pulls Rampage in close to prevent any damage.
Rampage wants to stand but Meyers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tre Rampage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lavern Meyers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rampage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Meyers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
