Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tarik Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Filipovic has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice has been working on his balance at Highland CT & Spar, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Filipovic.

That was a close round but I would say that Tarik Slice will probably get the nod.

Slice manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Filipovic on his heels. He'll look to pass Filipovic's guard now, I'm sure.
Filipovic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Slice controls the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Slice sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Filipovic's guard.
Slice working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Filipovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slice is working away from the top position though.
Slice looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Filipovic can do anything to dispel that myth.
Slice scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Filipovic to see if he's OK.

Slice has an Americana. Filipovic didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Slice is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Slice hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
