PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taw DawTang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Frankie Malone was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone throws a leg kick but DawTang checks it.
DawTang tries for a takedown but Malone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Malone clinches.
DawTang tries to pull guard but Malone forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
DawTang has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Malone after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taw DawTang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Malone is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. DawTang is defending well for now.
Malone tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and DawTang avoids it.
DawTang is trying to push Malone away but Malone has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Malone using the Thai plumb to throw knees but DawTang has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
We've been informed that Malone has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

DawTang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Malone paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Malone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DawTang.
DawTang shoots for a takedown but Malone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Malone lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Malone moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
DawTang blocks a head kick by Malone.
DawTang moves in looking to clinch but Malone pushes him off.
DawTang takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
DawTang wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
DawTang tries to clinch but Malone moves away
and Malone makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horrible takedown attempt by DawTang or perhaps it was just good defense by Malone, which made it look bad.
A head kick misses from DawTang.
Malone fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
DawTang fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from Malone. DawTang does a little dance to reset his feet.

Malone throws a head kick that misses.
Malone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DawTang.
Malone appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
DawTang tries for a takedown but Malone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Malone pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
DawTang is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Malone.
Frankie Malone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malone throws a nice head kick!

DawTang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - DawTang lands in his opponent's guard.
Malone has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Malone scrambles and gets back to his feet.

DawTang has a takedown stuffed.
DawTang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Malone circles away.
Malone is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malone misses with a hook. DawTang ducked under it nicely.
DawTang tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Malone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
DawTang shoots in for a takedown but Malone shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Malone moves into range and clinches up with DawTang.

Malone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
DawTang throws a head kick that misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from DawTang, right into the meat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankie Malone dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from DawTang.
Malone throws out a counter right but DawTang avoids it with no problem.
Malone takes a body punch but keeps moving.
DawTang throws a lazy body kick
and Malone counters with a nice low kick that buckles DawTang's knee momentarily.
No luck for DawTang with that takedown attempt.
Malone looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
DawTang shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Malone pinned against the cage. Malone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taw DawTang. That's going to take a lot out of him.

DawTang shoots for a double leg takedown but Malone sprawls well. He's pushed DawTang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

DawTang steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Malone. That one must have hurt.
Taw DawTang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
DawTang chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Malone can pounce on him.
Malone connects with a solid leg kick.
DawTang tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Malone lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Malone fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and DawTang has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Malone lands a big head kick that sends DawTang tumbling to the mat! Malone takes a step backwards and waves DawTang back to his feet - he wants the finish!

DawTang is rocked!

It looks like Taw DawTang has been cut.
Malone throws a powerful right kick. DawTang tried to block low but the kick was high! DawTang was taken right off of his feet! Malone jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Frankie Malone!
A relieved looking Frankie Malone thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
