The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Royce misses.
Burns raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Royce connects with a crisp jab.
Some wild striking there from Royce.
Burns misses with a hook. Royce ducked under it nicely.
Royce dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Burns swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Royce counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Royce.
Royce blocks an uppercut.
Royce lands a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Royce blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Burns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burns tries for a takedown but Royce circles away easily

and Royce counters with a crisp one two that drops Burns! Royce thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Burns to his feet! Burns is in big trouble!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Burns moves into the clinch successfully.

A right hook to the body lands for Royce.
Royce scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Burns goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Burns is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Royce cracks Burns with a nice body shot.
Burns is trying to break free.
Burns takes a shot to the head.
Royce stalling the fight.
Burns misses with a body punch.
Nice body punch from Royce - that landed with a thud.

Royce breaks the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Royce. Those never looked like landing.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Royce creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Royce presses Burns against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Royce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Royce lands with a big right hook that stumbles Burns - he's out on his feet here! Royce follows up with another monster hook that separates Burns from consciousness! Burns falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Royce stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
