Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sig Hemmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roland Deschain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sig Hemmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roland Deschain!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemmer throws a looping overhand right but Deschain ducks down to avoid it.
Hemmer throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Deschain shoots in but no luck this time.
Deschain keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hemmer.
Hemmer lands a jab to the head.
Hemmer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Deschain.
Hemmer bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Deschain! He dives into his guard looking to finish!


Deschain is rocked!


It looks like Roland Deschain has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hemmer trying to control the position from guard on top but Deschain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Deschain is still in real trouble! Can Hemmer finish him?
Deschain wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hemmer is now in half guard.
Deschain seems to have recovered his senses.

It looks like Hemmer is going to stand back up.
Deschain has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hemmer is working away from the top position though.

Hemmer tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Deschain.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice sprawl there from Hemmer as Deschain shoots in.

Hemmer's corner calls for a 1-2. Hemmer obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Deschain shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Deschain is looking to advance position but Hemmer won't allow it.

Deschain is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Deschain content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Deschain looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hemmer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Deschain keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deschain wants to free his trapped foot but Hemmer is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Deschain is looking for a kimura but Hemmer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Deschain to get the leverage.
Hemmer is in trouble now - Deschain has advanced to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Deschain looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sig Hemmer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Roland Deschain's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Deschain fails with a takedown attempt.
Deschain connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Sig Hemmer has been cut.
Hemmer throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Deschain steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hemmer.
Deschain avoids a punch combination nicely.
Deschain waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Hemmer.

Deschain feints and as Hemmer raises his hands in defense, Deschain changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Deschain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Deschain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Deschain stays in close to Hemmer's body and controls the position.

Deschain prevents Hemmer from getting back to his feet.
Hemmer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Deschain controls the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Deschain takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hemmer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Deschain works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sig Hemmer is winning the standup battle so far.
Hemmer scores with a leg kick.
Deschain throws an overhand right that lands on Hemmer's shoulder, as Hemmer tries to avoid the shot.

Deschain shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hemmer's guard.
Deschain advances to half guard.

Deschain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deschain looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Deschain is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hemmer sees it coming and defends easily.
Deschain controlling the action here.

Deschain looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Deschain has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roland Deschain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Hemmer wants to clinch.
Deschain fails with the takedown.
Deschain shoots in but Hemmer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hemmer misses with a jab, cross combination.

Danga de danga de dang - Hemmer scores with a four punch combination!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Deschain staying out of range there.
Deschain shoots in and drives through. Hemmer sprawls well.
Sig Hemmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roland Deschain.
Hemmer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Deschain misses with an uppercut.

Hemmer gets caught flat footed, as Deschain shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Deschain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hemmer is keeping the position for now.
Deschain advances position into side control!

Hemmer can't do much from the bottom here.
Deschain controls the position.

Deschain has hold of Hemmer's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hemmer seems comfortable defending it but Deschain has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hemmer is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hemmer is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Deschain couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roland Deschain!
