Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Jan Vertongen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Khalab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalab connects with the punch.
Vertongen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Strike Zone KT in the buildup to the fight.
Khalab looks to throw the jab but Vertongen is out of range.
Khalab throws a hook to the side of Vertongen's head but Vertongen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
As Khalab tries to get set, Vertongen tries to push him back and clinch up but Khalab manages to avoid the attempt.
Vertongen moves into range and connects with a jab.
Khalab uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vertongen.
Vertongen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vertongen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Khalab scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vertongen doesn't seem bothered though.
Vertongen digs a good body shot into Khalab's ribs.
Khalab just misses with a punch to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Vertongen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vertongen cracks Khalab with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Vertongen lands an overhand right.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khalab ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Khalab ducks under a wild hook from Vertongen.
Khalab throws a big shot that misses.
Khalab looks to score with a jab to the body but Vertongen is just out of range.
Vertongen cracks a nice hook into Khalab's ribs.
Vertongen lands with an uppercut that bounces Khalab off the ropes and back into range.

Khalab throws a hook but Vertongen avoids it easily.
Vertongen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Khalab on the side of the head.
Khalab is still on wobbly legs! Can Vertongen finish him?
Khalab uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vertongen.
Vertongen misses with an uppercut. Khalab saw that one coming.
Vertongen ducks under a wild hook from Khalab.
Khalab seems to have recovered his senses.
Vertongen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Khalab at a distance.
Vertongen lands a nice looking body shot.
Khalab throws a sloppy body shot
and Vertongen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Khalab throws an off balance right hand
and Vertongen counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
