Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim McBride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Perry!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBride fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McBride throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Perry's waist but Perry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McBride off to one side.
McBride closes this distance looking for a takedown but Perry circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim McBride. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Perry throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Jim McBride has been cut.
McBride shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perry but Perry pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Perry looks to throw the jab but McBride is out of range.
McBride fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jim McBride seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McBride looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McBride is breathing heavily.
McBride tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Perry swivels and escapes.
McBride misses with a double jab

and Perry counters with a beautiful punch that sends McBride to the canvas!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Perry forces his way into half guard.

Perry decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Perry cracks McBride with an uppercut from hell and McBride crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Perry's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


McBride is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perry trying to control the position from guard on top but McBride is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McBride is trying to hold Perry in close to prevent damage but Perry has managed to pass into half guard.

Perry escapes and gets back to his feet.
Perry bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McBride's head.
Perry drops his shoulder and cracks McBride with a huge uppercut! McBride goes down! Can Perry finish him?
Oh McBride is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Perry is stalling in the full guard.
McBride seems to have got his legs back now.
McBride can't keep his opponent in guard - Perry advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Perry is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! McBride is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shawn Perry!
