The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tai displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Emelianenko.
Tai lands a head kick!

It looks like Aleksandr Emelianenko has been cut.
Tai goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Emelianenko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Tai throws a sloppy head kick

and Emelianenko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tai's guard.
Emelianenko controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emelianenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Emelianenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tai is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Emelianenko drops back looking for a leg! Tai is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tai manages to kick Emelianenko off! Emelianenko jumps back into Tai's guard.

Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Tai keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Emelianenko drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Emelianenko seems to have locked his on tight now - Tai screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Emelianenko, as he picks up the win!
