Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alopan Mozapa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Kyznetsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alopan Mozapa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alopan Mozapa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yuri Kyznetsov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mozapa gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mozapa is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kyznetsov can't fight it off and eventually Mozapa manages to take the fight to the floor. Kyznetsov looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kyznetsov is working an open guard so Mozapa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mozapa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kyznetsov on his heels. He'll look to pass Kyznetsov's guard now, I'm sure.
Mozapa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Mozapa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kyznetsov for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mozapa lands a couple of elbows.

Mozapa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mozapa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mozapa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A combination from Mozapa does no damage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kyznetsov wants to take the fight to the mat but Mozapa manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Mozapa jumps guard.
Kyznetsov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mozapa is controlling Kyznetsov's posture.
Mozapa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mozapa lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mozapa won't allow Kyznetsov to sweep him here.
Mozapa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kyznetsov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mozapa is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mozapa prevents Kyznetsov from getting back to his feet.

Mozapa scoring with punches to the head and body.

Kyznetsov is working an open guard so Mozapa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mozapa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kyznetsov kicks Mozapa off and gets to his feet.
Kyznetsov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mozapa sprawls well. Mozapa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kyznetsov gets slowly back to his feet.
Mozapa gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Kyznetsov counters with a single leg into guard. Mozapa didn't expect that.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mozapa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mozapa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kyznetsov's guard.

Mozapa is breathing heavily.
Mozapa throwing strikes from guard but Kyznetsov blocks nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mozapa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kyznetsov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kyznetsov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mozapa wants to pass the guard but Kyznetsov is keeping the position.
Mozapa trying to control the position from guard on top but Kyznetsov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alopan Mozapa dominated that round.
That's time! Mozapa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mozapa throws a front kick aimed at Kyznetsov's knee but Kyznetsov avoids it well.

Mozapa drives through with a takedown into Kyznetsov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Kyznetsov is looking to stand back up but Mozapa counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kyznetsov.

Mozapa winds up and cracks Kyznetsov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Mozapa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kyznetsov can do to turn this around?
Mozapa sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kyznetsov defending well though.

Kyznetsov is defending against the submission attempts here by Mozapa.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mozapa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Alopan Mozapa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kyznetsov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mozapa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kyznetsov wants to hold on but Mozapa pushes him away.
Kyznetsov tries to reverse the position but Mozapa maintains control.
Kyznetsov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mozapa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kyznetsov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mozapa looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mozapa swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
