Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lui Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lui Kang has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lui Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesner!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kang.

Kang gets caught flat footed, as Lesner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lesner stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Lesner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kang is bucking up trying to escape but Lesner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
BOOM! Lesner connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lesner looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.


It looks like Lui Kang has been cut.
Kang bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Lesner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lesner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kang.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lesner is striking but Kang is not phased and passes to half guard.
Kang is keen to just control but Lesner is a slippery customer.

The fighters are battling for position here. Lesner manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Lesner pushes Kang off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lesner misses with a two punch combination.
Lesner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kang but Kang pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lesner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lesner is looking to clinch but Kang is avoiding it.
Kang misses with a head kick.
Lesner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lesner looks gassed!
Lesner misses with a two punch combination.

Kang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Kang as Lesner shoots in.
Lui Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Lesner.
Lesner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lesner blocks a head kick by Kang.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kang. Lesner shrugs it off though.
Kang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kang throws a head kick but Lesner moves out of range.
Lesner looks for a takedown but Kang sprawls well.
Kang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lesner.
Lesner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kang as he avoids it easily.
Lesner takes a kick to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lesner avoids the head kick by Kang.
Kang lands a head kick!

Kang scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Kang lands a head kick. Lesner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Lui Kang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lesner shoots in and drives through. Kang sprawls well.
Kang throws a head kick but Lesner moves out of range.
Kang throws a sloppy head kick and Lesner moves out of range easily.
Lesner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kang counters with a body kick that stops Lesner in his tracks momentarily.
Kang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lesner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kang but Kang pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kang tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kang goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Lesner shoots in for a takedown but Kang shows good takedown defense.
Lesner misses with a wild combination.
Kang throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lesner's head.

Lesner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Kang's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kang takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lesner working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lesner lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Lesner dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lui Kang's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Lesner fails with the takedown.
Lesner looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kang is fending him off so far but Lesner persists. Nope, Kang circles away and we're back to standing.
Kang stuffs the takedown.
Lui Kang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Lesner.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kang looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kang tries to clinch up but Lesner circles away and keeps his distance.

Kang goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kang throws a head kick that half lands.

Lui Kang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kang throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lesner.
Lesner throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kang counters with a head kick. That will keep Lesner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Lesner takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Lesner looks to land a left hand but Kang moved out of range nicely.
Kang lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Lesner takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Kang doesn't manage to clinch there - Lesner circles away.
Kang takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lesner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kang's waist but Kang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lesner off to one side.
A head kick from Kang lands but Lesner takes it in his stride.

Kang lands with a kick to the temple. Lesner shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kang pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lesner gets a takedown into half guard.
Lesner thows a huge punch but Kang dodges it nicely.
Lesner lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Kang avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lesner.
Lesner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Lesner thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kang to regain full guard.

Lesner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lesner stands up over Kang, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lesner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Lesner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lesner scores with a couple of short elbows.
Lesner cracks Kang with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Kang defending against the ground and pound.
Kang is looking to reverse the position.
Lesner throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kang works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Lesner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kang is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lesner scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kang is looking to control Lesner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kang avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lui Kang dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Lui Kang's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Nice sprawl there from Kang as Lesner shoots in.

Lesner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kang sprawls well initially but Lesner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kang wants to control but Lesner is keeping busy.
Lesner stops Kang from getting back to his feet.
Kang blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lesner.
Lesner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kang's head.
Kang wants to improve his position but Lesner is controlling well.
Lesner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kang defending well though.
Kang is trying to stand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lesner lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kang avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lesner.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lesner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kang rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lesner's guard! Nice work there by Kang!

Lesner is striking from the bottom but Kang uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Lesner manages to get to full guard.
Kang won't allow Lesner to sweep him here.

Lesner throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Lesner keeping moving, preventing Kang from controlling successfully.

Lesner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lesner is pulling down on Kang's head to control his posture.
Lesner thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lesner throws a series of punches but Kang avoids them all with ease.
Lesner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kang moves in looking to clinch but Lesner pushes him off.
Kang tries a head kick but it misses.

Lesner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lesner lands strikes from half guard.
Lesner thows a huge punch but Kang dodges it nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lesner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kang knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kang misses with some strikes from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brock Lesner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lesner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
