Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Bale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Bale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Bale misses with an uppercut.
Bale looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range.
Johnson blocks a low kick nicely.
Bale with a hook.
Bale connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Jimmy Johnson has been cut.
Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bale sees it coming and avoids it easily.
As Johnson looks to move away, Bale throws a big counter combo but Johnson just gets out of the way.
Johnson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Tony Bale has been cut.
Johnson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Bale.
Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Bale should have avoided that one.
Bale tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bale instigates a clinch.
Bale can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.
Johnson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Bale has Johnson pressed against the cage, preventing Johnson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bale throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Bale bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bale is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bale sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Bale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bale lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bale looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Johnson looks to land a right hand but Bale moved out of range.

Johnson scores with a takedown into Bale's guard.
Johnson throws an elbow that misses. Bale uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Bale!


Johnson is working an open guard so Bale takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bale throws out a loose jab but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnson, as that shot connected.


Tony Bale's cut is getting worse.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Bale circles away easily
and Bale cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tony Bale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Johnson.
Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Bale sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Johnson just misses with a punch to the body.
Bale lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Bale sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jimmy Johnson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bale slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Johnson cracks Bale with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Johnson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bale to stand back up!
Johnson throws a hook but Bale blocks it.
Bale tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson digs a good body shot into Bale's ribs.
Bale avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bale keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Johnson scores with a jab. Bale acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bale is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Bale circles away and we're back to standing.
Bale bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice shot lands for Bale.
Bale throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bale as he avoids it easily.
Tony Bale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Johnson.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bale lands a left and a right that send Johnson crashing to the mat, dazed. Bale thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Johnson is rocked!
Bale lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Johnson head around and knocks him out cold! Bale hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tony Bale!
Tony Bale seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
