The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
La Grande takes a swing at Laureana's ribcage but misses.
Laureana cracks La Grande with a good jab.
La Grande will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Laureana swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Laureana misses with a body shot.
La Grande seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
James La Grande seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
La Grande throws a body punch but Laureana moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Laureana misses.
Laureana uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by La Grande.
Laureana misses the jab.
Laureana looks to land a right hand but La Grande moved out of range.
La Grande throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laureana misses with an uppercut. La Grande saw that one coming.
Laureana leaves La Grande with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

La Grande closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - La Grande lands in his opponent's guard.

La Grande drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laureana looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laureana looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laureana!

Laureana has an Americana. La Grande didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Laureana is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Laureana hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
