The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paine takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Paine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McCann is trying to defend but Paine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Paine is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed McCann to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Paine decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McCann, up you get!

Paine tries to clinch but McCann moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCann tries to buck Paine off but Paine is having none of it.

Paine has worked his way into a potential kimura here. McCann is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Paine yanks on the arm and McCann is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Paine.
