Boykin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Пересмотри. Mabogo has chosen 3 Doors Down - Duck and Run as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mabogo drives through and clinches with Boykin against the cage.
Boykin misses with a body punch.
A frustrated look appears on Boykin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Mabogo trying to land knees to the body.
Mabogo looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Boykin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mabogo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Boykin tries to break the clinch but Mabogo is controlling the position.

Boykin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mabogo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mabogo lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Mabogo misses with a knee to the head.
Boykin tries for a takedown but Mabogo manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boykin is trying to drag Mabogo to the mat but Mabogo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Boykin can't break the clinch.
Mabogo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Mabogo has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Boykin seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Mabogo can turn it around.

Boykin has been working on his balance at St Petersburg MMA Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Mabogo.
Boykin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Boykin drops Mabogo with a big left hand and mounts him. Mabogo is in big trouble!
