The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haney tries to sprawl but Kulawik drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kulawik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Haney dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kulawik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kulawik can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kulawik has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Haney has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Kulawik gets control of Haney's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kulawik will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Haney keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kulawik's head.

Kulawik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
