The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Adi.
Adi fails with a takedown attempt.
Messy looks like he wants to counter punch here.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Szalony Adi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adi misses with a takedown attempt - Messy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Messy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Adi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Messy defends well and Adi ends up having to push Messy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Adi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Adi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Messy avoids it really well and circles away.

Adi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Messy but Messy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Adi is breathing heavily.
Adi closes the distance and clinches up with Messy, looking for a takedown. Adi pushes Messy against the cage but Messy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Messy sizes up Adi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lionel Messy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Messy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Oh Adi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Messy lands with a shot to the body.
Messy lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Adi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Messy jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Messy lands a big uppercut and Adi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Adi looks OK. Messy waves Adi back to his feet!
Messy is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Adi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Adi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Messy tries to avoid it but Adi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Messy to the ground. Messy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Messy drops Adi with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Adi! Messy dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lionel Messy!
Lionel Messy tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
