The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Butcher sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Butcher misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Butcher circles away from the clinch attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Butcher! But no joy.
Butcher has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Barbosa is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Butcher throws a leg kick which misses Barbosa's front leg but catches the back leg as Barbosa tries to avoid it.

A quick step to the side and Barbosa tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Barbosa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Barbosa pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Butcher throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
An attempted straight right counter from Barbosa misses the target.
Barbosa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at ~T~ Troid - Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Butcher lands an overhand right.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barbosa connects with a solid leg kick.
Butcher lands a glancing blow to the side of Barbosa's head.
