The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Showtime misses with a combination

and Clay counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Clay works over Showtime with some ground and pound from guard.
Clay stays in close to Showtime's body and controls the position.
Clay lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Showtime wants to sweep here but Clay controlling him for the moment.
Clay wants to control from the top but Showtime keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Showtime trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Showtime throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Clay thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Showtime looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clay is one step ahead there.
Clay trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Showtime throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Showtime feints a jab promting Clay to slip. Showtime then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Clay slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Hoyt Clay has been cut.
Clay really is a fat lump.
Showtime drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Clay right on the button. Clay goes down! Showtime follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Showtime gets the win via TKO!

After the fight, Big Showtime was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
