PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javy Gandejos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters had to take extra time to make weight as they missed the initial 155lb limit. Barry Benson came in at 157.0 and Javy Gandejos came in at 156.2 but after the extra two hours, both guys managed to get within the one pound allowance. No doubt it will have affected them physically though, so let's see if that has an impact on the fight. Barry Benson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson throws a series of punches but Gandejos avoids them all with ease.

Benson gets caught flat footed, as Gandejos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gandejos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gandejos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gandejos is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Benson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Benson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gandejos is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Benson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Gandejos has an Americana. Benson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gandejos is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gandejos hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
